Love to Ride 2015
In 2015, Love to Ride campaign will invite 20,000 businesses to take part in the first National Workplace Cycle Challenge. The Love to Ride Challenge will be a competition between organisations across the UK to see who can get the most staff to try riding a bike. Trying cycling first hand will change people’s perceptions and behaviorthus encouraging more people to take up cycling. Love to Ride is all about showing more people how easy and enjoyable cycling is. The campaign is organised by the National Cycling Charity.
How does it work?
A Workplace Cycle Challenge is a competition betweenorganisations to see which can get the most employees to ride a bike and logtheir trip online during the challenge period. The challenge will run from 8 - 28 June 2015.
The organisations that get the highest percentage of their employees to ride a bike win a team prize. There are 6 size categories to level the playing field. Staff only have to ride a bike for ten minutes or more for their participation to count. They can ride wherever they feel comfortable and whenever they like over the three week challenge period. Giving people a fun ten-minute cycling experience can quickly break down negative perceptions about cycling, and replace them with new, positive attitudes.
