With the beginning of 2017, the
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, received a Cycle Friendly Employer Certificate! The Faculty has thus become the first such Faculty in Croatia, which was deserved by encouraging employees, students and visitors to use the bicycle as a means of transport.
By providing infrastructure, by their work and efforts, the Faculty is a positive and desirable example in the Croatia for the preservation of the environment, health and public space by increasing sustainable forms of movement - cycling. Dean Mislav Grgic, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb stated: "We have invested a lot in high-quality infrastructure for cyclists, with innovative solutions for the safety of bicycles. Thank you to the Cyclists' Union, a member organisation of the European Cyclists Federation, for recognizing our work, but mostly thanks to our employees and students that cycle, protecting the environment and their health!" All local and national media covered the story, bringing this certification initiative from Cyclists' Union to front for all companies to think about and to take the next turn of the pedal towards a better and sustainable society!
